KEEP Grassroots Committee

Grassroots Funding Finalized for 2009
Since the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP) was formed in 2004 more than a half million dollars has been awarded in grants to various equine groups throughout the Commonwealth. Horse shows, 4H clubs, educational institutions and programs have benefited mightily from KEEP funding through its Grassroots Committee.

For 2009, our board approved Grassroots funding in the amount of $80,000. This money has already been allocated and budget restraints will not permit an increase in our expenditures at this time. We are hopeful that our future funding will allow us to expand our support for the many equine activities in Kentucky.

The Grassroots Funding Committee will have an updated application and guidelines for the 2010 calendar year in the upcoming months. For more information or questions contact the KEEP Staff by calling 866-771-5337 or via email at info@horseswork.com.

Download Funding ApplicationThe Kentucky Equine Education Project's Grassroots Committee, in its efforts to educate people of the Commonwealth about the importance of horses to the state's economy, is spreading the word to each of the 120 counties in Kentucky. As part of this outreach, the board of directors of KEEP has allocated specific grant funds to help local horse organizations, 4-H equine clubs and educational institutions promote horses. Non-profit, Kentucky-affiliated horse clubs (Saddle Clubs, breed organizations, etc) qualify for $500 grants for shows for such items as class sponsorship and ribbons and trophies. 4H horse clubs can qualify for up to $400 in funding.

KEEP encourages Kentucky affiliate clubs and horse 4H groups to submit grant requests. Please see your county's KEEP Team Leader for assistance. They can be located on KEEP's interactive map. And we encourage your membership. To join KEEP, click on the become a member button above. This all-inclusive organization is working hard to make sure everyone knows "Horses Work for Kentucky."
