Since the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP) was formed in 2004 more than a $650,000 has been awarded in grants to various equine groups throughout the Commonwealth. Horse shows, 4H clubs, educational institutions and programs have benefited mightily from KEEP funding through its Grassroots Committee.
The Kentucky Equine Education Project's Grassroots Committee, in its efforts to educate people of the Commonwealth about the importance of horses to the state's economy, is spreading the word to each of the 120 counties in Kentucky. As part of this outreach, the board of directors of KEEP has allocated specific grant funds to help local horse organizations, 4-H equine clubs and educational institutions promote horses. Non-profit, Kentucky-affiliated horse clubs (Saddle Clubs, breed organizations, etc) qualify for grant money for shows for such items as class sponsorship and ribbons and trophies. 4H horse clubs can qualify for up to $400 in funding.
KEEP encourages Kentucky affiliate clubs and horse 4H groups to submit grant requests. Please see your county's KEEP Team Leader for assistance. They can be located on KEEP's interactive map. And we encourage your membership. To join KEEP, click on the become a member button above. This all-inclusive organization is working hard to make sure everyone knows "Horses Work for Kentucky."
